Due to the fact that air travel has experienced a number of issues —to say nothing of the least— due to too many people wanting to fly at once and not enough crew members, train travel is having its moment.
HomeRentals.com, an online rental service, has teamed up with InterRail, an allinclusive European train pass, to give away a train trip unlike anything else for up to six friends.
The trip, which lasts for about 19 days, will take the travelers on a bespoke InterRail journey, stopping at historic houses along the way, including a Spanish mansion, a French château, a Catalan manorial house, an Italian villa and a German castle.
“We’re excited to offer this epic adventure, which celebrates the golden age when there was more time for people to travel with their families and friends. By combining the very best of rail travel with the best of European heritage, we hope travelers will connect with history and culture and experience travel as it once was.”
If you don’t win, then you can still stay at one of the homes that are part of the trip, because they’re all available through Airbnb’s new historical homes program, which lists more than 2,000 historic properties across Europe.
“The Airbnb Heritage Tour celebrates the unique cultural experiences that Interrail offers travelers, and highlights the rich heritage that these train routes offer access to and the chance for travelers to go one stop further into connecting with Europe.”
We clearly see an increasing demand for travel. This year alone, we’ve already seen the number of travelers surpass that of 2019 before the pandemic. We’re thrilled to be partnering with Airbnb and to advocate the positive impact that rail travel can have in our communities.
