Field Hockey Announces 2022 Schedule 

PISCATAWAY,N.J. – Coming off of a major season for the program, Rutgers field hockey unveiled its 2022 fall schedule. The forthcoming crusade features 17 regular season games overall, beginning on August 26 and featuring 11 home games and six down from home.

The platoon has nine nonconference games( Duke,St. Joe’s, La Salle, UConn, Princeton, Delaware, James Madison, Monmouth and Syracuse) in addition to the eight- game Big Ten slate.

The schedule features eight games against brigades that went to the NCAA event last season, including two Final Four brigades and last season’s NCAA Champion, Northwestern. 11 of the 17 brigades on the slate were ranked in the last released NFHCA Trainers Poll last season.

the platoon will host two hassles to open up play, drinking Rider( August 14) and Syracuse( August 20). The schedule begins with four straight home games( Duke,St. Joe’s, La Salle and UConn).

The platoon will protest off the regular season with the” Battle on the Banks” event, featuring RU games against Duke( Friday) andSt. Joe’s( Sunday), with a neutral point tourney between Duke andSt. Joe’s on that Saturday.

Five of the first six games and eight of the first 10 games overall taking place at home. A New Jersey weekend( at Monmouth and also hosting rival Princeton) closes out an opening stretch againstnon-conference foes.

Big Ten Conference play begins on September 16 when the platoon takes its first trip out of state on the time to head to Michigan State.

After hosting Delaware that Sunday, RU continues conference play by hosting Ohio State and Michigan to close out September. The Scarlet Knights take a trip to Indiana and Iowa next, followed by single- play weekends against Northwestern( home) and Maryland( down).

Rutgers will head to Syracuse on October 23. The regular season also concludes with two further home games, drinking in Penn State, and also hosting James Madison for Senior Day on October 30.

The Big Ten event will be hosted this season by Ohio State, which will be from November 3- 6 in Columbus, Ohio.

Last season’s Big Ten event, hosted by Rutgers in Piscataway for the first time, drew record crowds, including,617 suckers at the title game, the largest NCAA Field Hockey crowd of the season.

The 2022 fall schedule is subject to change, including dates, times and locales. Full TV and streaming information will be blazoned at a after date.

Last season, the Scarlet Knights set a program record with 19 triumphs, 13 ranked triumphs, seven ranked road triumphs, six top- 10 triumphs and six Big Ten triumphs.

Rutgers won the Big Ten event, claiming the first event crown for the athletic department. RU earned theNo. 1 overall seed in the NCAA event, winning its First Round game against Delaware, its first NCAA event palm since 1986 to advance to the Elite Eight.

Field Hockey Well Represented at USA Field Hockey Senior Nexus Championship 

PISCATAWAY,N.J.- Three Rutgers field hockey pupil- athletes will contend in the 2022 elderly Nexus Championship. Isabella Mancini, Carly Snarski and Elise Pettisani are in Virginia Beach,Va. this week for the event.

Formerly known as the Young Women’s National Championship, the elderly NXC is held annually and features 144 elite high academy, collegiate andpost-collegiate athletes. During the spring and early summer,

athletes trialed and trained at one of the seven USA Field Hockey High Performance Centers throughout the country for an occasion to be named to the elderly NXC,

a step along the Olympic Development Pathway program. All athletes that were preliminarily on the Rise,U-21, Development and Senior U.S. Women’s National Team were also included within the selection. The event started with a platoon training session on Sunday with games starting on Monday. The occasion to be named for the 2022- 23U.S. Women’s National Team and Junior USWNT Selection Camps are at stake.

Games on Field 1 will be live- streamed, and can be viewed then.

Rutgers’ own Maddy Sposito will also be serving as one of the adjunct trainers. Maggie Lamb was also named for the event, but won’t be attending.

” I’m extensively proud of all of our athletes named to the USA Field Hockey Senior Nexus Championship,” head trainer Meredith Civico said.” This is an inconceivable occasion for our pupil- athletes to contend with and against the top players in the country.”

Mancini enters her elderly season’ On the Banks’. The Medford,N.J. native has played in 16 games over her Scarlet Knights’ career, with three thresholds at back. She has been named a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar, Academic All- Big Ten, and an NFHCA National Scholar of Distinction.

Snarski will begin her fourth time at Rutgers this fall. A native of Randolph,N.J., she has played in 21 games as a Scarlet Knight over the once two seasons, making two thresholds at midfield. In that time, she has recorded two pretensions and one help.

Pettisani enters her sophomore season at RU this fall. A Medford,N.J. native, the product of Eastern Regional High School led that product to four state crowns as a four- time All- State selection.
